Anglers group seeks to help veterans
Sequim Gazette - 1/30/2019
The Puget Sound Anglers of the North Olympic Peninsula Chapter and Operation Oliver H. Row, a 501(c3) nonprofit organization, is partnering to co-sponsor their first veterans fishing program.
The goal, club members say, is to open the program to all veterans and active duty military members in coming months.
The kickoff will be a trial run of the blackmouth (chinook) salmon and will be for community injured/disabled veterans. Anyone interested in signing up, regardless of status, is asked to 360-504-2622 to secure a place for fishing, or come to the VFW Post 4760 at 127 E. First St., Port Angeles.
All reservations must be made by Feb. 1.
The Oliver H. Row Foundation works to support and assist veterans in navigating the claims process for disability compensation. The organization welcomes donations for this and other programs; all donations are tax-deductible.
