Lifting Platform LP1
The Lifting Platform LP1 is designed to lift wheelchair users or users with mobility impairment over minor height differences of up to 24 inches (609 millimeters). LP1 is a small lifting platform, often used in places where space is limited. The side exit may be on the left or right side. LP1 can be installed indoors or outdoors; it is noiseless, stable, and secure. It can be used acute situations or as a temporary solution.
The Phat Jack is a wheelchair lifter designed for use by individuals with lower extremity or mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury. This unit was designed specifically for the Melrose Rugby wheelchairs (see separate entry), but the manufacturer can customize it for other wheelchairs. To use the Phat Jack, it is rolled under the rear bar of the wheelchair's frame, and the handle is pushed down. The rear of the wheelchair stays up until the handle is lifted back up.
