Environmental Alternatives (EA) is a private, non-profit corporation that provides a variety of residential services to neglected, abused, and delinquent children. EA operates a Foster Family Agency, Group Home Program, Transitional Housing Placement Program (THPP), Transitional Housing Program Plus Foster Care (THP+FC) and Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP+). EA offers emergency and long term residential care for infants through twenty-one years old. Besides neglected and delinquent children, they accept: handicapped, developmentally disabled, medically fragile, and pregnant teens & child. A streamlined admission policy accommodates placement agencies who need to make arrangements immediately. They can usually screen and authorize admission during the initial phone contact. Access to the system is made through any EA social worker, group home or county liaison worker. They can further assist counties by arranging contracts for emergency shelter services. They do not discriminate because of race, color, religion, sex, age, handicap or national origin.
