The Garaventa Stair-Lift is a wheelchair lift for interior stairway access in multi-story buildings, and some exterior applications. The lift can be configured to fit most straight stairways without any intermediate landings. The system includes a grab rail to assist passengers in entering or exiting the platform, and the Garaventa Intelligent Control System (ICS), an electronic control system designed to simplify wiring and reduce service time. The lift can be operated by the user or an attendant. Hand held 24 volt operating controls are standard equipment for attendants to operate the lift while walking up beside it. The platform is called to the desired floor using a key-activated wall-mounted call station. When the platform arrives, the user wheels onto it. A continuous pressure switch moves the platform up or down as required. After arriving at the target floor, the platform will automatically stop. Three models of the Stair-Lift are available. MODEL GSL-1: This model is designed to handle turning stairways with multiple levels. The platform will stop at each floor, like an elevator, to provide total building access. MODEL GSL-2: This model is designed for straight stairwells without intermediate landings. It uses a C-channel rail and, depending on wall construction, the rail can be attached directly to the wall or be supported by towers. MODEL GSL-3: Designed to follow both the inside and outside radius of turning stairways. Except for its ability to follow the outside radius, this model is identical to the GSL-1 model. PLATFORMS: There are three types of platforms available to be fit on any of the three models of Stair-Lift. Type S has touch-sensitive ramps and a touch-sensitive plate to stop the lift if the wheelchair rolls or if the lift encounters an obstacle; 6-inch high sidewalls, a non-skid surface, and an actuation bar to manually raise or lower the ramp. Type SP has, in addition to all features of the Type S platform, a Power-Fold and Power-Ramp which electrically raise and lower the platform and ramps. Type SPE has all the features of the Type SP platform and a Bar-Guard that electrically operates the safety arms. MOTOR: 1 horsepower (HP) direct current motor. SPEED: Travels 20 feet per minute. CAPACITY: Maximum lift capacity is 500 pounds. DIMENSIONS: (LxW)Two platform lengths are available. One is 39.4 x 31.5 inches, and the other one is 48 x 31.5 inches. COLOR: Baked powder paint in choice of 5 standard and 7 optional colors. Custom colors available in two-component urethane finish. Tubes and supports are also available in stainless steel finish.
