The Button Sensory Bottle is a homemade sensory bottle used for fine and gross motor play, as well as education, for children to develop these skills through sensory integration. This homemade sensory bottle is made of an empty water bottle with a clear bottle of hair gel and multi-colored buttons.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather Materials.

  • an empty water bottle
  • clear hair gel
  • buttons – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple colored

Step Two: Children help the therapist or caregiver drop a few buttons into the water bottle. Child can name the colors of the buttons as they drop them into the bottle (optional).

Step Three: Squeeze some hair gel in the bottle.  

Repeat Steps Two and Three until the bottle is full.
