DIY Weighted Glove is designed to provide additional sensory input to the hand for children who need the extra input to be more aware of the position of their hand. Material: Hook and loop strap (i.e. Velcro), washers, a mitten/glove (the author purchased the gloves from Target).

Technical Specifications:

Directions:

  1. First, attach the hook and loop to the inside of the flap, so you can close the flap tightly.
  2. Then, place the desired amount of washers inside the flap.
  3. Close the flap, cut off the thumb, and now you have a weighted glove!

The author recommends placing tissue paper inside the flap prior to placing the washers. That will place the weight closer to the fingers (but not on top of the knuckles).
