WB-View is an electronic braille book reader program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software package enables users to navigate and view Web-Braille files in the online braille book collection of the National Library Service (NLS), which are available to individuals meeting NLS eligibility criteria. The program allows the user to load WEB-Braille book and magazine volumes onto a PC, flip through the pages by braille page rather than by print page, search the file, and move among multiple volumes or titles. A bookmark is automatically set at last read position, and the user can set up to ten additional bookmarks. The program can be set to launch automatically in association with .brf and .brl Windows files. It also works with plain text files, and is compatible with popular screen readers and refreshable braille displays. Users can select from 15 different line lengths to format a file to fit any size braille display and can set the speed at which the braille display will advance. The program includes a search function that allows users to search the NLS catalog for Web-Braille books. The program comes with a user manual and keystroke list in text and formatted braille versions.
