Objects – Lite is a perceptual training and independent living and personal skills tutorial program designed for use by parents or teachers working with children with developmental disabilities or autism. This application (or app) allows a parent or teacher to use their Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad or Android device to teach a child to recognize common objects which they come across in their daily living such as chair, table, comb, toothbrush, and pillow. The app is organized into multiple "Learn and Play" sections. Each section has pictures as visual prompts, and includes separate "Learn" "Play" parts. A picture of an object is displayed on the screen with its written name and an audio prompt in the "Learn" part. In the "Play" part, a picture of the object taught in the "Learn" part is shown together with three other pictures as distracters. The child is asked to select the picture of the object learned earlier in the section. Each correct response is rewarded with a cheerful animation. Scores are recorded in the app for progress tracking and analysis purposes, and for assignment customization. Available languages include English, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. COMPATIBILITY: For use with an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or any Android device. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 4.0 or later, Android 2.2 or later.
