E-Z Read Slates are braille slates designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. These are aluminum slates with pins on the top leaf to secure the paper so that the user can read the braille without removing the paper from the slate. Available models include the ##1 E-Z Read, model 23-0701-5, a 27-cell, 4-line slate; the ##2 E-Z Read, model 23-1801-3, a 19-cell, 6-line postcard size slate; the 8 Line E-Z Read, model 23-1101-7, a 28-cell, 8-line slate; and the Jumbo E-Z Read, model 23-1201-5, an 18-cell, 4-line slate with oversized cells and dots. The Jumbo model is designed to produce braille that can be read by individuals with neurological disabilities affecting the sense of touch, including diabetic neuropathy. All models except the Jumbo model come with a regular braille stylus. The Jumbo model comes with a Jumbo stylus, but may be used with a regular stylus to produce a sharper dot.
