Insights Counseling Group information provided by: Placer County Adult System of Care

For over a decade, Insights Counseling Group (formerly known as New Mourning Counseling Services) has served the South Placer community and beyond. Insights started serving the community to provide insight for grief surrounding the loss of a loved one. But through the years, it has become apparent that grief and loss can occur even through life's happy transitions such as childbirth, marriage and retirement. Our non profit agency promises to promote healing and growth through psychotherapy, education and creative outlets. Insights Counseling provides individual psychotherapy, group therapy, couples and family therapy. All of our interns and therapists are certified in prenatal & postpartum counseling for depression or anxiety. Our ongoing groups focus on relevant issues for children & teens. We use creative means such as art to unlock ones true potential. INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: Insights will match you and your needs to a professional therapist or intern who is best qualified to help you overcome the very issues that keep you from empowerment. Together you will discuss the symptoms that keep you from your "normal" routine, and come up with a plan that will involve measurable results. RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING: Sometimes counseling will involve other members of your family. We encourage healthy relationships and enjoy meeting with couples, partners, parents, and entire families to increase communication skills and work through conflict. Instinct often compels us to cut off friends and family members when we have a disagreement. There are times when safety is a concern and this would be an appropriate choice, but there are also times when when this decision could lead to a very isolated existence. ICG will help you to identify red flags, set healthy boundaries and initiate self care while staying in relationship. When appropriate, you may decide to exit a relationship. We can help you through this transition as well. CHILDREN and TEENS: Children often struggle with issues around blended family, friendships, identity, substance use, and depression or thoughts of suicide. Our culture is one of the electronic age which make relationships even more challenging. Our therapists understand children and teens. We know the challenges at each developmental milestone. Our therapists have experience in special needs, trauma, teen depression and anxiety. Divorce, sexual trauma, physical violence and drugs are all part of our younger generation. If you think your child is struggling with any of these adult issues, Insights can help. We also offer a safe and regulated space to blog and ongoing teen art groups. See our website for details.
